Description

Woman with Cosmic Headdress & Cat – Whimsical Folk-Surreal Portrait Original oil on canvas, 20" × 18". Signed “Plisov 2026.” A serene woman with closed eyes and soft features gently nuzzles an orange cat, both figures framed by an extraordinary, elaborate headdress filled with cosmic and decorative motifs. Planets, spiral galaxies, patterned discs, red berries, and intricate geometric designs swirl around her head in rich blues, reds, golds, and blacks. Surrounding the pair are delicate purple flowers, a yellow crescent moon, a small ladybug, and a green praying mantis in the lower right. The overall effect is highly ornamental, dreamlike, and narrative—blending folk-art patterning, surreal symbolism, and tender human–animal affection. This vibrant, imaginative work continues the artist’s series of decorative figurative portraits and offers strong visual presence and storytelling appeal—ideal for collectors of whimsical, folk-inspired, or magical-realist art.
