Peeled Tangerine – Classical Still Life

Paintings

Description

Peeled Tangerine – Classical Still Life Original oil on canvas, 20" × 16". Signed lower right “S. Plisov 2020.” Presented in a black frame with gold inner liner (as shown). A single tangerine (or mandarin orange) has been carefully peeled and arranged against a deep black background. The glossy orange segments fan outward, their translucent membranes and juicy interiors rendered with precise highlights, while the curled white pith and golden-brown peel frame the fruit. Soft light models the forms and creates subtle reflections on the dark surface, emphasizing texture, color, and quiet elegance. Executed in a refined classical realist manner, this intimate still life celebrates the simple beauty of a everyday object with careful observation and luminous detail—ideal for traditional or contemporary interiors seeking a refined botanical accent.
