Purple Iris – Classical Botanical Still Life

Paintings

Description

Original oil on canvas, 20" × 16". Signed lower right “Plisov 2020.” Presented in an elegant black frame with gold inner liner (as shown). A single majestic iris blooms against a deep, velvety black background. The upper petals are a luminous soft lavender-white, while the lower falls are rich, velvety purple with delicate veining and soft highlights that catch the light. Two green buds and slender stems rise from the base, adding quiet balance and a sense of natural growth. The painting is executed in a refined classical realist manner, with careful attention to the translucent quality of the petals, subtle color transitions, and the dramatic contrast of light against darkness. This elegant, timeless floral portrait offers both botanical accuracy and quiet drama, making it a versatile piece for traditional or contemporary interiors.
